Same thing with the zip tie mount model, you can cut the zip ties to remove it, but it seems sort of wasteful. The torsional forces are pretty significant when you get to really sending your bike over obstacles and the aluminum simply outpowers these forces and does so with a modest weight and cost profile. One additional benefit to Aluminum is that it creates more drag against the plastic Garmin circular mount receptacles than Nylon 12 or other 3d printing materials, meaning that it will stay put and won't vibrate loose. If you experience significant drag when mounting your Aluminum cam for the first time, consider using an evaporative liquid as a lubricant - gel hand sanitizer and \/ or water, along with a downward rotational force.
