The first relates to the type of dynamo hub you're running--SON or Shimano \/ Shutter Precision (SP). The second relates to the function of the handlebar switch. The first option \"Lamp or USB\" is fairly straightforward, the handlebar switch toggles between the two leads and offers power to the lamp or power to the USB charger. The second option \"USB Always On\" uses the handlebar switch to toggle the lamp on and off, and the USB remains powered.
