The bear spray section was impressive. They had four SKUs of bear spray, and one SKU of a bear spray belt loop cozy. Of the four bear spray SKUs, only one worked with the bearclaw holster--the 7.9oz Outdoorsman brand. Anything that's in the 7.5oz - 8.5oz range will work with the bearclaw holster. I suspect all of these things are produced at the same factory and branded by the companies that market them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo continuing my product scouting info, the 9.2 oz Outdoorsman brand SKU at Cabela's is too tall to work with the bearclaw holster and the MACE \"Guard Alaska\" Bear Spray also wouldn't work, it's also 9.2oz. Maybe TMI here, but it's interesting to me that all of the bear spray SKUs came with a belt loop cozy carrying case (useless if you're going to keep it in your BearClaw Holster) and also interesting that the pricing for the 7.9oz is the same as the 9.2oz. This one is really useful for mounting on a rear suspension frameset if you're right handed and want to pull from the right. There are literally hundreds of headlamps available in the market, almost all of them are great for one thing or another. Don't get caught up in the bulb brightness or battery storage arms race, and reflect on the purpose of this tool. Here's a checklist:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1) It has to work.  Every time you need it to, and without a lot of fuss. Is that piece of junk you got from Amazon going to perform when you're fumbling around in the dark because you have a flat tire or think you might hear a bear? \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2) It has to have long battery life, long enough so that you don't have to recharge it all the time and that you're confident it's going to work when you need it to.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3) It has to have simple controls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4) It has to be waterproof and have an onboard USB rechargeable battery. A plus if it can also use a commonly available battery such as an \"AA\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e5) It should be lightweight and not take up a lot of room.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e6) It should have an adjustable head band that will fit onto your head or helmet and be washable \/ resistant to soil because, well, we try to avoid disposable stuff.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e7) The pricing shouldn't be subsidizing a brand.
