The V-25 is designed to accept a trickle charge like you see on dynamo hubs, it offers pass through charging (provides outflow from the battery at the same time the battery is being charged), and provides low-current flow with no automatic shut off. It also has redundant USB-C  inputs, which is quite rare in power banks. This redundancy is appreciated in the bikepacking vibration environment where the best of cables are laid to waste in a fairly rapid fashion from trail vibration.

During the daytime, you'll want to keep the light off on your kLite so that all of the dynamo power flows into the kLite dual USB charger--and into your Voltaic battery. If any of your devices are running low, use the pass through charging feature by charging them with USB leads from the Voltaic. When night falls, flip the kLite ULTRA lamp on, unplug the Voltaic battery, and then run the charging lead from the kLite dual USB charger directly into the GPS.

Always On Mode
Battery features updated Always On technology as its standard state and will not shut off even if your device is drawing low or no power. There is no low current cutoff.

To stop charging your device, double tap the Power Level Button or disconnect from the battery. To resume charging, tap the Power Level Button once. 
Battery recovers into Always On mode after discharge, over-temperature and under-temperature events. Power consumption in Always On mode is approximately 7mA (26mW).

A Note on Battery Capacity
The maximum capacity listed on each battery is the sum of the capacity of the cells that are inside the outer package. There is a regulatory practice that demands that battery packagers print the maximum capacity on the product--especially true for batteries with Lithium-Ion technology. In practice, these batteries realize less than the maximum capacity.  For example, the V-25's battery cells have a maximum capacity of 6,700 mAh, which is printed on the outside of the battery. In the field, we've seen a realizable yield from the V25 of 3,300 - 3,500 mAh, slightly better than 50% of the maximum. There are a range of reasons why this is the case. First, the onboard battery management system prevents the batteries from going completely flat so that the cells are not damaged. This practice extends the life of the battery pack but limits the use of the entire battery capacity. Second, even at full capacity the internal battery cells operate at 3.7v, below the 5V output USB target, requiring a voltage boost and rectification process that introduces inefficiency into the equation. Voltaic is not being deceptive here - they are following generally accepted battery industry conventions and practices. The discrepancy between maximum capacity and realized capacity exists to varying extents in all battery packs. This is why it's important to gain experience with your gear well before you're out in the wilderness and relying on it!
