Bikepacking Aerobar Computer / Light Mount Guide
Bikepacking Aerobar Computer / Light Mount Guide. Our site has a handful of options that allow you to make your bikepacking (or triathalon) aerobars a lot more useful. Of course, we have all of the products listed on our site, but it's fun to see the options on one page and to compare them with each other. We hope you find the comparison useful!
Our best seller in the category is the "Dual Connection Aero Bar Bike Computer and GoPro / kLite Mount Kit" .

This kit, which lists for $44.95 offers a very solid in-between-the-aerobars connection, allowing you to mount your bike computer on the top and any two-lobe GoPro style device (a lamp, like the kLite ULTRA, or an action camera, like the GoPro) to the bottom. We refer to this as a "kit" because it comes with all kinds of options. First, it comes with two aero bar diameter mounting options, 22.2mm and 25.4mm. So if you're not sure what you have, it's likely going to be one of these options. Second, it comes with three bike computer options: Garmin, Wahoo, and Bryton / Cateye. The center beam, the underside lamp / camera mount, and the top "dish"

that holds the computer mounts are made from Aluminum, which provides a durable and very stable link between the two aerobars. The 22.2mm / 25.4mm mounting "loops" and the computer mounting discs are made from durable thermoplastic. The mount itself is adjustable in width, allowing you to have your aerobars set between 7.2cm and 13.5cm (center to center) in width. This adjustability is one of the really nice features of this mount. It comes with three individual allen keys to help set it up on your bars and is entirely black in color--no annoying logos. It weighs 72g when deployed on the bars.
The second best selling option on our site is the "Sideways Aero Bar Bike Computer and GoPro Mount". This option, which lists for 24.95, connects to the non-drive side of 22.2mm aero bars and projects 55mm into the center of the two aerobars. With this option, you'll need to

confirm you have 22.2mm diameter aerobars, since unlike the prior "kit", it doesn't ship with an option to use on 25.4mm bars. As with the prior option, it ships with three computer mount options for the top (Garmin, Wahoo, Bryton / Cateye) and for the bottom GoPro mount, it comes with a plastic mount for an EDC tactical flashlight. Of course, we prefer to use the bottom mount for the kLite ULTRA dynamo lamp or for a GoPro camera, both fit nicely between the aerobars. This option is produced from Aluminum and is quick to assemble onto the bars since the single 22.2 mount is hinged and unlike the dual sided mount, there is no aerobar disassembly required to fit the loops over the aerobars. This option is also black and weighs in at 36g. Since it mounts to only one side of the aerobars, it's not as stable as the dual sided platform and you may want to augment the mounting solution with some vinyl electrical tape to grant a little more purchase between the surface of the hinged aluminum mount and the aerobar.
The newest addition to the jefe aerobar lineup is produced by kLite. It's a modular solution that comes in two different products. The first is a Nylon 12 and Carbon Fiber tube and loop bridge between the two aerobars. Weighing in at 38g, this aero bar bridge costs $39.17; it's very stable because it connects to both sides of the aerobars. It's a 22.2mm

solution, so as with the single sided option above, you'll need to confirm the diameter of your aerobars before purchasing. Like the dual sided option above, it is adjustable in terms of width, and offers a maximum width of 12.5cm when the aerobar width is measured center to center between the bars, a bit narrower than the dual connection aero bar mount listed above. To maximize the functionality of this product, you'll want to add the second product, a kLite designed and produced forward facing 22.2mm computer and GoPro camera / light mount. This mount is produced from Nylon 12 and slips over the

22.2mm tube, providing a very stable bike computer and camera / light platform in between your aerobars. It weighs in at 34g, so between the bridge, you're at 72g, identidal to the aluminum dual sided aerobar bridge listed above. The cost on the forward facing 22.2mm mount is $41.29, bringing the total cost of this solution to $80.46. When ordering the kLite forward facing mount, you need to choose betwene Garmin, Wahoo, and eTrex / inReach options, because the mounts do not ship with alternatives. This is one of the very few mounts on the market that has a solution for the Garmin eTrex and inReach Explorer, and it will only work on the InReach Mini / Mini2 if you have the spine lock option installed.
