D/C USB Qube: Dynamo Rear Safety Lamp by kLite

D/C USB Qube: Dynamo Rear Safety Lamp by kLite. Using feedback from bikepackers, touring cyclists, and gravel racers worldwide, kLite has re-designed the Qube, the industry's first dynamo powered rear blinker. Two primary innovations in Qube 2.0 include:

  • All electronics are imbedded inside the Qube lamp itself, so that the cord can more easily be routed along with brake and shifting lines on your bike. As with Qube 1.0, fully waterproof.
  • Qube 2.0 now includes a lightweight dongle that allows the device to blink (no dongle) or run in solid lamp mode (dongle)

Solid mode has been requested by a range of riders who prefer to use the blinking mode during the daytime and a solid lamp at night. There are also a growing number of events that demand that riders use a solid rear lamp. And get this--after the first 30 seconds of capacitor loading, the Qube only draws 30mA of current (at 5V DC) in solid mode, and in blinking mode, only draws 30mA when the lamp blinks, and none in the "non-blink" mode. Those numbers are mere rounding errors when you're adding up power consumption across all of your devices.

The one, the only . . . Dynamo powered rear blinker.

Get rid of your annoying battery powered rear blinker and switch to kLite Qube! Draws a minimum of current and includes capacitive storage so it continues to flash for a few without charge input.  Draws so little current, in fact, that if you plan to use it with a charge battery, it has to be one that allows a trickle of current - like the Voltaic Systems line sold here. Includes three sizes of mounting hardware for different frame placements.

The Qube blinks a set of short flashes followed by a longer one, and there is randomness in the blinkage. That makes it uniquely different from virtually every rear blinker in the market.

Even more details:

—lens is clear but blinks (or shines solidly) red

—Optimized for use with kLite USB chargers; will not auto start from some non-kLite brand USB dynamo chargers (test on your stand before heading out on the bike!)

—Plugs into USB output or USB splitter, can not be connected directly to dynamo hub. Go nuts and buy two of them and a USB splitter and then have dual rear blinkage.

—ULTRA low power drain

--Ships with a lightweight mounting kit but coordinates with all kLite and GoPro mounting systems, including the kLite Rack Mount

—Anti-glare optics: no blinding following riders, high visibility for vehicle at distance

—100% waterproof / Dunk proof

—We have noted some interconnection issues between this product and the Voltaic V-25 and V-50 series of batteries; we do not recommend this application combination.

—optimized for the “always on” kLite wiring loom

—Produced by kLite in Australia with a two year warranty

Two models available:

Normal Length Qube:  From USB to the end of the rear lamp, approximately 36 inches. This model works well if you're going to mount it on your seat stay and you're not running a rack. It's the lightweight choice. You can extend the portion from the USB port to the Dual USB charger with a male to female USB-A extender

--XL Length Rear Qube:  From USB to the end of the rear blinker, approximately 62 inches. This model works well if you're going to mount it on your rear rack. As with the normal length Qube, you can extend the portion from the USB port to the Dual USB Charger with a male to female USB-A extender.

Sorry, the dongle from the Qube 2.0 does not convert Qube 1.0 lamps into solid mode--there are modifications in the electronics of the device as well as in the dongle that enable solid mode.
